Well Alex Dowsett has come down on the 'anti disc brakes' side recently:

I'm guessing that it will be all or nothing though, you can't have one team on rim brakes and others on discs, so either way one group of riders will be riding with something they don't want.0 -
Why all or nothing? I'm sure Neutral Service can accommodate both types of wheel.0

This. Some guy from Cube said that there wasn't a time when you couldn't do with more stopping power. I say that you don't want the guy in front of you in the bunch having more stopping power.
Alex Dowsett would say that; he's riding for a team equipped with Campagnolo, and they are not going to be the first groupset manufacturer to come up with a disk brake. Like his use of faux evidence. The Game of Thrones is bloody fiction, of course sharp disks coming into contact with bodies is not going to end well in that context. To err is human, but to make a real balls up takes a super computer.0 -

Tin foil hat quote of the day! Do you honestly believe this?0 -

Yep - he's not going to say "Disk brakes would be brilliant but bloody Campag are behind the curve so we are going to be at a disadvantage"0 -

Incorrect. They will ride what they're given. Plenty of Pros have slated their equipment over the years.0
