Hi,

My back wheel needs re tensioning and truing. I've tinkered with it myself but it needs properly looking at as I'm having a lot of problems with the non drive side spokes..

Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions regarding good wheel people? I'm based up north but frequent the Midlands.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum.

Cheers

Know someone in Hull who will do a good job, if that's close enough - he builds my wheels.

Hull is a bit of a ball ache to get to. But it might be worth a shot if I can't find anywhere nearer!

I've not used them in years, but you could try John Atkins cycles in Leamington..

Depending on what you call "close" (to Kenilworth), these guys are about 28 miles away . . . good people and website says wheel truing is £12.

Don't know if you ever go Cleethorpes way, but Velosport have always done me proud.

There is a couple of bike shops in Leamington (not far from Kenilworth) and there is Mike Vaughan Cycles in Kenilworth. I'm sure they all could tune a wheel. I don't know what any of them are like though.

Mikes Bikes (Mike Vaughan) can be a bit picky about servicing those who didn't originally buy from them, so a "drop in" might take a while to be worked on.
  • ive been into Vaughans a few times. I've heard a few stories, hence I'd rather go elsewhere. Thanks for the recommendations.
  • I think I may have to call velo sport tomorrow. Yet again my spokes have come loose after today's ride. I've done my best to sort it and now it's getting ridiculous.
