11-28 to 12-30 cassette

Doing the C2C in a day (seascale-whitby) looking to put a 12-30 cassette on my 105 5700. Will it be an easy swap??

As long as you have a chain whip, the correct cassette lock-ring tool and a large adjustable spanner, then it's a 10min job.

Cheers, got all the kit to change it. Would it make a differance if it was an ultegra 6700 compatability wise

I run Ultegra 6700 with 12-30 if that's any use to you.

No difference at all, except it will be a bit lighter. Shimano say that short cage rear mechs won't work with a 12-30t cassette, but you should be fine.

I've just done that - I got a Tiagra one though as it was a bit cheaper and I'm not going to keep it on. All I had to do was wind the b screw right in.

It's great for big hills but I had to make the chain longer and it's not quite as smooth as usual.

Ditto this, I fitted a 12/30 on my last bike with 5700 and wound the b-screw in fully and it worked fine without any clearance issues.
