Does anyone on here know of any cheap sites to stock up on some inner tubes? Or am I not going to get a better offer than the old faithful Decathlon specials?

I never go for 'cheap' on inner tubes, but I know to steer well clear of local bike shop selling nothing but Bontrager for £7. When I go into Decathlon, I stock up on Michelins. They are the only inner tube I trust now.To err is human, but to make a real balls up takes a super computer.0

Been using decathlon cheapies for ages with no failures.
I've got nothing against Decathlon cheapies per se, but cheap and lightweight don't go together. To err is human, but to make a real balls up takes a super computer.0 -

The £1.99 Planet X lightweight tubes have been fine for me.
Lots in stock if you need short valves.

Ribble often have decent bulk deals on offer of the Conti's, 10's, 25's or 50's - so maybe see if you have some friends who want some?
Worked out at £2.50 each for me.Felt F70 05 (Turbo)
Marin Palisades Trail 91 and 06
Scott CR1 SL 12
Cannondale Synapse Adventure 15 & 16 Di2
Scott Foil 180 -

Yes, I bought a whole load of these for club, once. OK, but I don't like threaded stems. To err is human, but to make a real balls up takes a super computer.0 -

Is that because the pump does not release as easily?
They also have removable cores I think.Felt F70 05 (Turbo)

I also find them to be too large a diameter for a perfect fit.
I will be looking at other manufacturers in the future. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Screw the removable valves tight and dont tighten the flexy hose so tight when pumping. Problem solved.0

This common sense lark is incredibly easy, I don't know why it doesn't catch on.0 -

Special small tool required so has to be done at home. Finger tight won't cover it.
Why a manufacturer cannot build it's product to a proper level is beyond me.The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Pliers
That's what I use. No need for the silly small tool, which you'll lose immediately.0 -
Any other tools on top of pliers to add to the list of tools that I do not usually carry?
I am not alone in this. I have seen plenty other cyclists have the same problem, and read it here a few times too.
Isn't hindsight wonderful?
Keep the digs coming. They are superb. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Don't be a prat, you can tweak them tight at home with pliers you have lying around and/or if you want you can carry the 'special tool' which is cheap and tiny http://www.wiggle.co.uk/lifeline-valve-core-remover. It's a non issue.0 -

Hindsight is wonderful but new products shouldn't need tightening up.
I am sure that the OP has the message by now.The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

I rest my case.
By the way, a spoke key is a much better tool for the job than pliers.
And resorting to name calling indicates that the debate is lost. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
