My rear wheel was starting to play up and has just done over 1000 miles so stripped it down and in the hub I for only 6 bearings! This was the same on both sides! I had a look online and couldn't find the reason for it but I found that I should have 9 on either side .... The wheels are shimano rx 31 disc centre lock .... So I've put the extra bearings in and should be fine ... What do you guys think ? Build fault? This was the first time the wheels have been taken apart the bike is a derosa idol 2015

Possibly a fault from the factory but I doubt it. It looks like it has been repacked with grease at sometime. The factory shimano grease is bright green (not white as in picture).
I'd replace all the ball bearings rather than just add the missing ones to ensure they're all identical (type/quality and wear).

Wheels are original that came with the bike or a later purchase?
