I'd add that the 2 times my Garmin has seized mid ride have been when the VIRB was paired with it and activated.

I've not had any issues with my Virb or 800/810 freezing when paired. I did have a few issues with the camera stop recording but since I started to format the camera after copying footage onto PC I've not had any issues with the camera.
