Right, we're off up into The Big Smoke for (hopefully) some window shopping, followed by a trip up to Norf London to look at a potential 4 legged addition to the family. Sa0 - will probably pm you for some dog related advice if this goes through, which it almost certainly will.

Saturday and it's not raining. Got T1 and T2 till the weather turns when the OH gets back from work which will literally piddle on pedalling plans
Is Beer Matt out training for the big race? He's far too old for that mallarkey.

^lol. You can be my Colonel. You forget how good comedy used to be. Didn't say you would get some useful dog advice, probably only dogging tips. Speaking of which, where's Bally? Silly me - probably in bed! I think he only rolls in late because he's been lurking around car parks in Essex.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
Yep, they don't make 'em like that any more. If I get to abuse a left wing student called Rick, than I'm in :P
Now getting dragged round Harrods FFS. Please, please don't buy anything..."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -

Not hunting hounds this Saturday.
My hunting days are over now that I am happily married. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.Veronese68 wrote:PB is the most sensible person on here.0 -
Found this and it cheered me up. I think Pina would appreciate it too.

T'was a pleasant day, no reason in particular...just a day with no drama and a bike ride in warm sun. Highlight was some chap in a AC Cobra with an enormous engine giving it the full beans as he pulled away from a junction and continued on. A marvellous noise.0

Got away with minimal damage at 'Arrods. Nothing bought by my female contingent apart from a couple of scoops of ice cream, and a coffee for me. Sat in one of the cafés eating ice cream, watched a couple of girls who clearly had limitless amounts of cash order two massive ice cream sundaes and some mineral water. They drank the mineral water and left the sundaes untouched - WTF? Was tempted to go minesweeping before it got cleared away
Anyway, went hound hunting up to North London and Stropteen settled on a properly cute and laid back 8 week old 'cockapoo'. Will have to do a couple more 'get to know you' type visits including maybe a day trip out before he's ready to come home permanently in about 2 weeks.
Sa0 - they were really good. Showed us the 'lineage' and the parents and explained how that particular mix avoids most of the genetic problems you can get with the breed (which isn't bad anyway compared to some). Already has had the first round of jabs, vets check up etc and comes with 4 weeks of insurance to give us time to get ours sorted. Any top tips on where to get dog insurance and how much cover you reckon is needed? Not really looked yet."I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." That must have been a relief.Stevo 666 wrote:Sat in one of the cafés eating ice cream, watched a couple of girls who clearly had limitless amounts of order two massive ice cream sundaes and some mineral water. They drank the mineral water and left the sundaes untouched
Nothing like waste to irk an accountant.Stevo 666 wrote:WTF? Was tempted to go minesweeping before it got cleared away

Seriously, these things would have fed a family of 4 for a week. And I was quite peckish at the time...

Prefer beer
We know that but one doesn't have to be exclusive of the other. Now you're 'racing', you have to replace all the calories you loose. Win win.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
I use Pet Plan, will seem expensive, but better comp than most (read the small print) and they don't dump you after a claim or two which some do.
I would have swept the ice cream.
Pretty dog, the breeding has done pretty well from cockapoo to cockapoo. Bitch or dog? Not bad first time find! I still prefer my dogs to be more hound like mind.
ended up out for a beer in Scouseville this evening, lots of pretty things out and saw a mate I've not seen in over a year (was the reason for going) cool night, now being finished with some cheesecake from the fridge. Onwards and upwards0 -

Yeah one or two might be good looking but could you really put up with the accent? I hear there has been an increase of employment in Liverpool to 12%. Most of them have been unemployed since 1945:

It's a dog, so we'll have chop the poor little buggers nuts off in the next year I guess. Apparently males are better for first time mutt owners - so they told us?"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -
No idea if they are better for first time owners, I've always had bitches because they tend to have s better temperament I am told. Pretty sure that is all down to nurture though
Matt h, no, I'll admit they put the most effort in for getting dressed up, I just don't like their style of fashion either0
