Can anyone tell me what size bottom bracket this takes please. I'm currently upgrading the crankset from FSA to Ultegra, but it appears you cannot get an Ultegra BB for this frame.......
What BB's are you guys running on this? I find the stock one a bit creaky so was looking to replace.

I assume you mean the carbon one with bb386 they were sold with ultegra chainsets for a while so would be surprised if it didnt fit.0

This is my problem, my LBS hasn't come across the current BB before and has had to order in a tool to get it out. LBS has pointed out that the Ultegra BB I've supplied is clearly a different size (smaller) than the one already on bike. They are going to ring me today once they have the tool and got the BB out and had a proper look.0 -
Website suggests that both the alloy and carbon are BSA threaded. So, Hollowtech for Ultegra, GXP for SRAM. etc.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

This bottom bracket clearly isn't going to fit the frame as its visibly smaller, so now Im even more confused.
I emailed Planet X asking what size BB the RT58 takes and they replied BSA.
I know that but are there different sized threads for BSA?? I've asked them but still awaiting a reply.......0 -
the S stands for Standard doesn't it? can't have more than one standard!
it'll fit, the outside of the newer shimano threaded bottom brackets are smaller than they used to be.www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -
If it screws in, it'll fit. Have you tried it?My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

No, I've left it with the LBS, they've actually had to order in a tool to get the existing one out as they've not come across one before. But it visibly look a lot smaller! Once the existing one is out we'll know for definite.0 -
the outside casing is smaller, the thread is exactly the same. I swapped an old 5700 BB for a 6800 one and they are smaller on the outside but will 100% fit.
I would question why the LBS didn't have the tool to remove the old one, it is a very common thing to do. The new BB comes with the tool to install it.www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0 -
Did you buy the bike ? All my PX's came with a parts breakdown on the order which is very useful to keep.0

Good call Fenix, whilst i didnt buy the bike new, i was given the paperwork with breakdown of parts from previous owner.
Say its currently got a FSA BB386 EVO BSA Threaded bottom bracket.
So, after looking at this http://www.fullspeedahead.com/products/bottom-brackets/megaevo-bottom-bracket/ It should fit!!!
As already mentioned the larger casing may make it look like the Ultegra BB wont fit. Fingers crossed0 -
No need to cross fingers, it will fit.0
