Hi All...

New to the site and new to road bikes and looking to purchase my first road bike through the cycle to work scheme. I have a wife and two kids that dictate my budget so I'm looking at sub £400. My thoughts are going for the B'twin Triban 500SE - http://www.decathlon.co.uk/triban-500-se-road-bike-black-id_8306187.html

Just wondered what everyone's thoughts were or if they had any recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

Rich

It's a good bike. Have a look, though, at the Merlin Performance PR7 (on Merlin bikes).

Sound first bike, just allow some cash for shoes. pedals, helmet, clothing etc.

And prepare to learn some creative accounting with OH!
  • Cheers guys. I like the look of the Merlin too... I'm torn now!

Creative ways of managing my funds with the OH... I think that opens up a whole new forum!! Ha ha!

Thanks again for the input. Given me something to think about now.

Go for one you can try out first, especially as it's your first road bike. You need to make sure it fits.
