Hi all,
I am looking to buy a new road bike with di2 gearing. I have a budget of 2-2.5k. I am 6ft 2 and 17st. I am thinking carbon is not ideal for me. Is there any recommendations of what would be suitable?

Nothing wrong with carbon at that weight. It's the wheels you need to think about, even then, you'd be fine.
+1 for the Canyon, great bikes.0 -

That.
Buy the bike you like for the frame and the groupset, bin the wheels and get some handbuilts with a decent spoke count, wider rim and 25mm tyres and you'll be a seriously happy camper!Trail fun - Transition Bandit

I warn you now, the Quattros may seem fine at the moment but at 20/24 the spoke count is way too low. They will go (I speak from experience of the Racing 5s) eventually and then you're in big trouble as there's very little support from the remaining spokes to "get you home".Trail fun - Transition Bandit

Ok thanks for the heads up. is there any you recommend or a site?0 -
I'd speak to any of the wheelbuilders that frequent this site (Ugo, thecycleclinic etc.) or some that don't (Harry Rowland, Mark Pollard at Spokesman Wheels) and get their advice. Get a decent 23mm rim (A23, Archetype, Kinlin etc.) with a decent spoke count (28/32 or 32/32 - Sapim Race) onto some good hubs such as the Miche Primato and you'll have a great value, very strong, reliable wheelset that will be more than light enough as well!Trail fun - Transition Bandit
