Wheel upgrade on a budget

Hi,
I have a 2011 Cannondale CAAD8 105 and have recently started doing some serious miles on it (currently 300km/week and loving it).
I've decided a wheel upgrade might be in order (from the standard Alexrims RC24). I'm looking at Shimano RS-81, or Campagnolo Zonda. To me, the Zondas look cooler and are more affordable (I've found some for A$400.00 compared to A$650.00 for the Shimanos).
Will either or both of these wheels give an appreciable improvement to my current wheels in terms of responsiveness, average speed and ride quality? What else should I consider at this price point?
Most of my riding is on relatively flat country roads which vary from smooth asphalt to moderately choppy asphalt. I'm currently running 23mm Conti GP 4000s with the intention to switch to 25mm.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
