    Very sad.
"World Challenge is deeply saddened to announce the passing of Operational Support Technician Mark Kingston.
Mark tragically died on Saturday evening from the injuries he sustained following a serious mountain bike accident earlier in the day.
Our thoughts and sympathies are with his family – wife Anna, children Courtney and Matt – and friends at this deeply distressing time.
Group Managing Director Matt Eastlake said: “I speak for all of us in saying that Mark was a true and genuine member of the World Challenge team – helpful, humorous and dedicated; we will miss him.”
Mark joined the newly formed Operations Centre Team in January having worked in Youth Development for the last five years within the UAE National Education Programme, teaching leadership and discipline to the Government Secondary Schools.
Previously, he served for 22 years in the British Army, finishing as a Warrant Officer Class 2."

Sad sad news. My thoughts are with his family and friends.
I don't mean to be insensitive but does anybody know what actually happened?

Was on Red15 Kevlar. Was at the top with another guy trying to stop people riding through while the emergency crews where trying to keep the guy alive, a few of whom just ignored and kept going. Not sure of exact details but think he left the trail at speed and hit a tree.

It's easy to forget that what we're doing is actually quite dangerous...

Bad news. Very sad when this happens.
Although mountain biking is dangerous, fortunately deaths are very rare which I think makes it more shocking when it does happen.
