Does the Garmin 500 have time of day that's visible in the data fields? In other words can I set the time of day - NOT elapsed time to be on all the time by selecting it to go in a data field?

If it's the same as the 510 then yes.
You can set up how many screens you have to swipe between, how many fields are on each screen and exactly what (from a choice of dozens) is in each field - speed, heart rate, cadence, distance, climbing, battery, temperature etc etc and time.0 -

Your career in comedy is not assured. I don't own a 500 and some devices eg the 200 don't have the facility to display that item. But now I know and I'll know what to look for should I get a 500M.Rushton0
