Nice and simple, what was your favourite bit?
To get things going, mine was the stage to Cambrai. Specifically that we saw GC riders properly race on cobblestones, trying to make time gaps, rather than just struggling through hoping not to lose too much time. Great stuff!

Greschke and Bardet's stage wins but for me the alpe d'huez stage, deep down I knew Quintana couldn't get 2 and a half minutes back but it didn't stop me shouting at the TV willing him on.0

Cummings blasting past the French duo to take the Mende stage and G's post-telegraph pole interview.0
-
Groaning as Cummings seemed to slip off the back of the group at the foot of the climb at Mende , then the 'Roche, it's Stephen Roche' moment as he caught Pinot and Bardet at the top, went straight past them for a great MTN win. Magic.0

This for me made even sweeter by Froome winning the GC race and taking more time out of his rivals.0 -
The look off sheer horror on Mrs Ron's face when she glanced at the TV when the yellow jersey was over 20mins behind on S16 without knowing the context0

Cummings stage win, in fact MTN all round. Clash act.0

Rocked your Kasbah, did they? It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.0 -
One of my favourite bits was today. The stage is over and I'm enjoying a post race beer on Le Champs and I see the Astana team car go by. On the back of a flatbed rescue vehicle. I found it funny.
I hope the Sky, Movistar and Tinkoff cars accelerated off when they saw it? #karma0 -
I think the forum server deserves some congratulations. I believe it only had a single jour sans during the Tour, a clear progression from its performance last year where it was often off the back! In 2016, it will be aiming to make that next step up and prove it has the consistency to go all the way.0

The Cummings win would be hard to beat.
Even though it didn't amount to much in the way of time gaps I loved watching the GC guys giving it full welly on the cobbles.
And Gary Imlach having to explain that Chris Froome hadn't actually been beating his wife was quite good too. And Matt Rendell doorstepping Jalabert.0 -

Usually watch on Eurosport, so what was this about? Did see the Rendell Jalabert bit, that was really funny.0 -

Stage 2, it really set the tempo for the whole tour. You could have been forgiven for thinking nothing would happen here after looking at the profile, but you couldn't look away.0

Seeing the French journalists round on Quintana and Movistar when they realised that his performance was as "abnormal" as Froome's having only lost the Tour by being wrong side of the echelon split.
Oh, my mistake, it was just a dream.Trail fun - Transition Bandit
Road - Wilier Izoard Centaur/Cube Agree C62 Disc
Allround - Cotic Solaris0 -
Any time ITV brought Jens Voigt in for his two cents.0

Funny, I had a similar dream after Nibali's miraculous transformation from Tour "also-ran" to stage winner.0 -

Yes, that. My Team did me proud ;-)
Best stage wins (no particular order):
Martin finally taking yellow, Cav finally winning a sprint, Cummings, Bardet, Greschke.
That the Alpe was actually exciting/tense was a huge bonus.
All round a good tour, for those with a bit of patience. Great first week, looked done and dusted in the 2nd but still able to deliver a tense last two mountain stages.Warning No formatter is installed for the format0 -
I thought the American lads did well. Shame about the nasty Van Garderen incident. Not beating Rolland overall must sting, though. Is it the doping? Never mind, Taylor might be back next year....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0

What bits I heard i didn't think Voigt added anything, although Phil and paul rounding on him yesterday was very strange.0 -
Peter Sagan pretending to get the other sprinters to form a break away after an intermediate sprint and their looks of incomprehension changing into laughter0

Something along the lines of ;
P&P you're saying the riders are not trying hard enough Jens, but how many Tour stages did you win?
Jens 3
P&P 3? really?
Jens Yes, 2 road stages and a TTT
P&P TTT doesn't count0 -

He and Boardman were discussing doping accusations or the data leak or something, and Imlach finished by referencing the famous "have you stopped beating your wife" line of questioning, ie whatever answer Froome gives is the wrong one. When they came back from break he had to explain that Froome hadn't actually been accused of beating his wife.0 -

At this point Jens of course asked them if they wanted a little time to tot up their stage victories, days in yellow, wins elsewhere and hour records?"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

There was definitely a moment where he was describing what it was like to be a spectator and having so much admiration for the all the suffering the cyclists go through but never actually thought about it when he was a rider.
I can't do it justice, but it was hilarious.0 -
Cummings win
Bardet's win complete with mad descending
Pinot's win on the Alpe
Seeing Geraint coming into the finish after his crash
and being on the Alpe0 -
For me it was Stage 10 - Froome wins, taking 1.04 out of Quintana, if the result had been closer the overall would have been a Quintana victory.

Cummings win for me. Utterly brilliant. And secondly, seeing Contador get dropped time and time again and rolling home nearly 10 mins down to the winner.2020 Reilly Spectre - raw titanium
