Hi Guys,
I have a pal doing a multi-stage race. They have just started (2nd or 3rd day) with >100 miles/ day
Long story short, he is using the Supernova Infiniti Dynamo Hub along with the 3 plug
http://supernova-lights.com/en/products/the_plug.html
For running lights and charging devices (Garmin and iPhone) and it is not working. The race requires a bunch of night riding and is self navigation, so this is a big deal. The green light on the plug is not coming on. He has tried cutting and re-connecting the wires but no joy :-(
Does anyone have any experience of these items? Or any suggestions as to why they are not working? He is riding and has minimal tools with him. I have mailed the manufacturer but they are slow to reply.
Thanks for any help.
Cheers

I suggest you post on yacf.co.uk (the audax section), as that site has several member who
use hub dynamos (me included, but not the one you refer to) and my be able to offer some assistance.0 -
Sorry to be a rule facist, but this would all count as outside assistance as per the rules and guidance of the Transcontinental (it is the same as ringing a friend up to ask them for directions - I.e. It is forbidden).
Your friend can ring the manufacturer themselves, but you can not ring the manufacturer on their behalf.
Them's the rules.0 -
I didn't know that. Thanks for the info. Almost glad I have been no use whatsoever now!0

For some of their guidelines on outside support.
Your mate has to get it fixed himself or get to a bike shop by his own initiative.
I hope he gets it sorted, as that is a bit of a blow on day two of the race!0 -
Thanks again.
To be fair, they didn't ask for help. I was just trying to be helpful.
No harm done.
