Hello,
This will be my first mtb and I would like to ask your opinion about these:

http://www.focus-bikes.com/nl/en/bikes/2015/mtb-sport/whistler-1/whistler-27r-40.html
http://www.cannondale.com/nam_en/2014/bikes/mountain/trail-hardtails/trail/trail-6
What is in your opinion the best from a equipment point of view? I myself would say the GT
I am only interested in these 3 models and none others

From those 3 I'd choose the GT. They usually offer very good spec for the price.0

Usually? Might be worth checking first.
Why only those, you can do much better for your money.I don't do smileys.

It's the best of those 3 which he did say was all he was interested in. GT do usually offer very good spec for the money, unless you want to avoid big brand bikes.
Perhaps you can suggest an alternative0 -
Not in Bucharest. But the Canondale and Focus are dire. The GT is possibly the best of a bad bunch.I don't do smileys.

Get to one of the three Decathlon stores in Bucharest, have a look at the 560, wipes the floor with those.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

The Rockrider 520 is much better than the GT (theonly acceptable one of those) and is 1899?Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

@ RockmonkeySC why do you say that ?0

The focus and the GT are the best of the two - both get the same hydraulic damping cartridge in the fork which is important. The Cannondale does not, and is a pogo stick to ride. Apart from that is little between them, though the GT gets some nice drivetrain upgrades.
I'd get a Rockrider 520.0 -

It has a better spec than the other bikes but the fork, brakes and wheels are all terrible. That fork is horrible to use off road, I had one on a crappy 2009 Specialized hardrock I had as a winter bike. It's like a pogo stick.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

Still no better than the GT and nowhere near as good as the Decathlon Rockrider.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
