Hi,
I am (still) looking for a bike for tracks and trails - need something that can climb very competently as well as descend well.. but being fun is most important.. just been looking at 2015 models of:
- Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Elite
- Trek Fuel EX9
I am also considering a Trance Advanced 2.
Prices for the bikes - as new 2016 models are arriving - are about 1600-1900 GBP.
It would be great to hear from anyone who has tried these out..
Thanks!

Transition Scout
Scout is definitely the best bike for the job but way over budget. Worth it though for the way it rides.
With the Scout discounted the best choice has to-be the Trance but I would go for the Trance 1 rather than the Advanced. The Trance 1 has a much better spec so is pretty much the same weight and should ride better.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350
