For anyone looking for a good deal on a groupset and who might be tempted by one of the SRAM Rival 22 deals that ESC Golf is offering via his eBay shop, be aware that he has stripped the chain catcher from the front derailleurs to sell as separate items. His exclamation is that you don't need it anyway if the derailleur is set up correctly, never mind that the front derailleur is packaged with the chain catcher as a complete item by SRAM.
I'll confess, it is still a good deal, but somewhat soured by the fact you know he's having you over for a £12 item (yes £12 is nothing to most, but when the customer is on a tight budget) that should be part of the derailleur. He's fortunate that the customer I'm building the bike for still wanted SRAM Rival 22 or I'd have told him to shove it and steered the customer to Shimano 105 5800 for similar money but complete.

I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.

I also had a recent issue with ESC golf. I purchased a bike and requested new 105 5800 groupset. when collected and i got home i found it was obviously used (even lightly) so not new. also the cassette and chain were sram. i know they are compatable but i like shimano to be throughout
my bad for not checking fully but that's another matter. i got a refund.

Seems to sell mainly Planet X stuff. Don't know were he sources it from. But even Planet X were notorious for offering full spec shimano 105 and Ultegra built bikes which had FSA chainsets, Tiagra front mechs and Sram cassettes and Chains. Its pretty common practice in the O/E sales at discount.
He's got some Planet X ct45 tubular wheelsets I am interested in at the moment. Cant see what he can short me of there? except skewers , which I d prefer to use my own any way.0 -

I've noticed them too, £50 cheaper than buying direct and 11 speed compatible freehub (which you dont get if you buy direct from PX) something doesn't quite add up?0 -

The bike i bought came with the 50mm carbon clinchers and they looked great. may not have lasted long with my big ass but looked the part and £350 for the tubs seems good value.
i wouldnt have minded the mix of parts if he was honest.
i did contact Planet X regarding the return of my bike and they said they did sell a load of old PX stock to ECS golf so guess that clears that up?Cube Cross 2016

He's supposedly getting fed up with people complaining that he hasn't been fully honest or accurate with his descriptions, which kind of suggests that if you're getting that many complaints, then maybe your descriptions aren't accurate or entirely honest.I ride a bike. I bought my exocet 2 frame from these guys and, lo and behold, they had removed the headset from it. The PX website clearly states that if you buy the frame from them it comes with the relevant headset. Mine did not.
Again, not a major issue as my LBS sourced me one for about £25, but it did delay my build and was annoying.
I didn't make a fuss about it.0 -

I bought some of these from ESC Golf a few months back, stickered up "Aero Lite". Made 'Best Offer' offer on eBay but they replied that to offer good price I'd have to go outside eBay. More than a bit concerned by this, but after an email or two decided to go ahead.
Wheels arrived promptly, as described, and I'm very happy with them. They came without the carbon specific brake pads (which P-X include in the price), but I was happy enough to forego them as they wouldn't fit my Campag calipers anyway.
I've aslo bought some Rival shifters from them. Prompt delivery again, all good as far as I'm concerned.0 -

I live local to the bloke so may go over in Person with an offer (cash) for the wheels. Cant understand if hes got a load of NOS Planet X stuff, how his wheelsets can be Shimano 11 speed compatible when PX themselves have only 10 speed hubs left?
As for the brake pads. would be nice but think I d prefer to choose my own any hows.0
