Hello there all, I'm Cirian75 (Simon)
after 6 year off due to a wrist injury I've come back to bikes
but I was a MTB'er but thats not viable any more.
So, road bikes and CX's then
about 6 weeks ago I bought a Specialized Allez 2nd hand
spruced it up with some new tyres and a better seat, away I go
so far in 4 weeks lost 11lbs (5kg) and can ride to work zero issues now.
popped a 105 front brake on, the stock no name was poo

Welcome aboard, I also bought a 2nd hand Allez and since then my Heckler hardly gets a look in.
I keep meaning to pump the shock up and go for a spin but always end up going for the skinny thing.Advocate of disc brakes.0 -

Hello and welcome. That's good going in 4 weeks, well done. I'd recommend not looking at the buying advice or your road bikes sections, major expense follows due to the desire to upgrade.
Saying that good brakes are well worth it. As are tyres and seat. Then there are wheels, but that's a whole other thread.0 -
