11 speed issues Chain getting stuck between rings!
Hi all,
So last week I purchased my first 11 speed bike and got a slight issue.
Setup is
SRAM 22 Rival Levers and mechs
SRAM Red 22 Chain
FSA Chainset with 36/46 chainrings (stamped 10/11 speed)
Basically, when changing from 46 to 36 on the front, if I'm in the 3 smallest sprockets at the rear, the chain does not go onto the 36T but slips in-between the chain ring and seizes up.
I've messed about with the lower stop limit to make sure it is correctly swept off but it just seems there is a problem when shifting form these 3.
This happens on the road, and on the workshop stand (ie with and without load)
Any one know what trick I'm missing?
Thanks.

Have you checked that the chainring bolts are all tightened up evenly?0

Hmmm, swapping from the big ring to the little ring when in the 11...... Why?? Most folk would go up the cassette a bit before swapping rings.
Having said that it shouldn't be an issue, so maybe the inner stop on the front mech needs backing off a bit to let the chain move further. Or maybe the cable is a bit sticky so the chains not "flicking" across.0 -
Is this a brand new, shop-fresh bike? Any chance the inner chainring is on back to front??0

Exactly my thoughts.I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.0 -

Yup - you are both correct!
Took it apart, turned the inner ring around, re-assembled and it works like a charm.
Shifts perfectly from big to small on any cassette ratio

The 3 problems most commonly diagnosed from the safety of my desk:
-Chain dropping between the chainrings because one of the rings, generally the inner, is on back to front.
-Chain skipping in the 11t sprocket because a 12t lockring has been used.
-Tyres going flat because the (usually Continental) removable valve core isn't tightened up.0
