Mendips sportive and saw the team sky car and a few riders ?

Was doing the UK cycling events mendips sportive yesterday and when I got to cheddar gorge the team sky car and a few riders going up the hill ... Anyone got a idea what this was about?
When i die I just hope the wife doesn't sell my stuff for what I told her I paid for it other wise someone will be getting a mega deal!!!
