Hybrid for road use

I wondered if anyone had any recommendations for a sporty hybrid bike just for pleasure riding on the roads. I still ride my workhorse MTB every day for the commute and fancied something a bit lighter and faster for weekend rides.
I much prefer the riding position on these than a road bike so it's just personal preference there. Budget would probably be around the £500 mark but the Trek fx 7.4 does look nice for slightly over that amount but haven't a clue if the components offer good value.

I have a London Road flat bar bike and is fast good off-road as well as on and looks great, bit over budget though.
