Q/ R won't tighten
Bike is a CaadX and wheels are Kinesis Crosslight V3.
No matter how tight I have the skewers, the wheels have slight movement in the drop outs, a shake like as if the bearings or lock nut were loose. I do not have another set of disc brake wheels but a Khamsin front in the same frame is fine. I've tried 3 sets of skewers that are good in other bikes but they are all bad with this wheelset. Lock nuts and bearings are fine. Axle is not protruding too far through the dropout and there is no paint in the dropout.
Any idea what I need to try next?

No, as I said in post bearings re fine and were the first thing I checked0 -

Is there 'play' when the wheel is out of the forks? yes /no?
Yes and is there play whe wheel in the forks and qr tightened? yes ... so
adjust the hub appropriately.0 -
Preload is by Alan head locknut that fits inside the axle.
Tighten or loosen slightly makes absolutely no difference to amount of play when wheel is fitted.
There is no play in axle/bearings with the wheel removed. I'm pretty sure the issue is in the quick release.
The fact that another proved good q/r has the exact same problem with this wheel is what has me beat.
I'll admit defeat and take it to a shop. I've a fair amount of experience but I can't figure this one out.0 -
