Canyon Inflite Al SLX Frameset
Just bought and received one of these for my commute.
It wasn't clear on the Canyon website but it looks like this version is setup for 1x10/11, ie there is no internal routing or cable stop for the front mech.
If I fit one of these backstop clamps
below the front mech and then run full cable housing down to it on the outside of the frame, does anyone foresee any problems?

Well I have used the internal cable route for the front mech, and have run full cable outer straight from the lever down the bike to the cable stop at the rear mech, the outer is fixed to the frame with cable ties to hold it in place, seems to index OK on the stand

I purchased one of those frames and got it today
I wonder is it a fault that there is no hole for front mech cable? There seems to be track up the frame for it.
Did you use a band front mech ? and if so what type as the tube does not appear to be circular for standard mechs.
I emailed them the query but so far have got no response

This from the intro to the frameset on the page also showing the built up bikes:
"Optimised for disc brakes and popular single chainring drivetrain setups, This is a thoroughbred cyclocross racing frame."
All the pre-built bikes are shown with double chainsets and the attendant front mech.
Sounds like the frameset is intended for single ring only...0 -
Looks like your right.
I suppose it will still work with a double chain ring that I took off my crashed cross bike. I should read thing thoroughly but in this day an age it is a bit a contradiction to have a race machine with a single chainring.
Doubt they will take it back now with the BB installed .
The bike looks great still.0 -
There is a slight taper on the seat tube but the 34.5 band on mech tightens down OK.0

I received my frame today, can't wait to build it up but I have some questions:
- Why did you choose to route the front derailleur cable through the frame and not the rear one? I ask because for me the quality of shifting at the rear is more important than the front. I was thinking of routing the rear mech cable through the frame and attach the front mech cable housing to the rear mech cable housing right before it enters the frame. Any thoughts about this approach?
- Would it be possible to add a picture of where you placed the backstop clamp and one that shows where you connected the cable to the frame on the downtube?
- I'm building mine with ultegra 6800 with hydraulic RS685 brakes. The frame doesn't come with a lot of useful information on how to build it. On the canyon website I found some information on bottom brackets so I believe this one is Press-Fit 86,5mm. Can anyone confirm? Will the default press-fit BB that is delivered with ultegra 6800 fit? I only have experience with treks BB90 so far.
Thanks in advance!0 -

Not sure what you mean about "attach the front mech cable housing to the rear mech cable housing right before it enters the frame".
My two options for running cable were:
1. Run the rear mech cable internally to the stop at the rear mech as normal.
Run the front mech cable externally on the frame using full outer housing, this would then terminate at a housing stop which would have to be mounted under the front mech.
or
2. Run full housing externally to the rear mech stop and then continue on with outer from there as normal, the picture above shows this is what I did.
And then the front mech cable was run internally
Everything works perfectly, shifting at the rear is fine. Its just an untidy way of doing it with external cabling.
86.5 is the BB size, I got this one from Merlin for £14.99

Now I understand, you didn't go with the backstop at the front meg. I ordered one of those. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks!0

Looks like this is why...
2016 range includes last year's Inflite AL - which is 105/Ultegra.
Then there's a proper CX model with SRAM 1x11 and Reynolds tubulars
https://www.canyon.com/en-gb/road/inflite/inflite-al-slx-9-0-race.html
So looks like they released the frameset on the sly before the full spec0 -
Looks like the same frameset but with slightly revised graphics0

Well I got fed up with the untidy external cablling and have gone for 1x11, used an old Sora crankset and fitted a Superstar Components narrow wide 38T. Changed the rear cassette to 11-36, which the 105 5800 medium cage rear mech is happy with. I still have the same 1st gear I need for the hills around here, will post a PIC later0

Never did update this with a picture so here it is:
