Just changed from coloured GP 4000,s to GP 4000S 11 TYRES.
Is it me or do the new 4000s11,s ride differently. They seem more grippier and bouncier.?

New tyres always feel better than the tyres you replaced. After a few days, it'll just feel like normal again.

Probably; all of the black tires have the "black chili" compound, leading to faster rolling, better grip, and more puncture resistance. It's basically a better tire in all regards in comparison to the colored versions.

Was that just regurgitating the brochure or your actual experience. Personally when swapping to the newer version I noticed no difference at all from the older 4000s.

Going up the width now that's a different story

    this year i changed from 23 to 25mm 4000S to 4000S II

Nothing much has changed except i can run thetyres at a lower pressure and they are very slightly more comfortable.
  • The biggest difference I noticed between the 4000s and 4000sII was the massive increase in price!!!!. Conti tyres are great I wouldn't use anything else. Only other tyres I ever felt happy with in all conditions was Michelin Prorace 3 - but they just wear out quick or are easily damaged.
Hills do make I sweat a lot

Just bought a set of 25's to replace my GP4000s 23's. I don't like the feeling of my tyres at lower pressure but I'll give it a go with the 25's.
