Hi,

My bike has these Deore integrated shifters and brake levers:

I'm going to be getting some hydraulic disc brakes, and I'm not cleart whether I will need to get new shifters, or if there is any way to separate the existing ones and mount them eithoout the brake levers.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Aidan

unless there is a bolt/screw to detach the shifter from the lever I'm afraid not. The latest STIs have the ability to pair with the lever.

You'd get a few quid for them on eBay though to fund some replacements

Cheers DG - good point about flogging the old ones on ebay!

Those sell for good money on ebay, then just buy some separate shifters.

The shifter unit can be unbolted from the brake, but then you need the replacement top half that the brake provided so it doesn't really make any sense.
