Giant Defy 1 Disc review

Unless I'm missing something, you haven't actually included a price in the review? The affordability, value and great price is mentioned many times during the review, without actually stating the price at any point.

I've noticed this in the past too on bike reviews, am I just not seeing it or is there a reason this?

"the Defy 1 Disc is an exceptional ride for the money"
"Highs: Price"
"...but it’s a competitive number for a bike of this price."

I was wondering the same thing and also why road bike full hydraulic disc brakes cost a lot more than their MTB equivalent, well over double.

I think it's because the road bike levers combine shifting and braking onto the same lever so are more complicated. Add to that the fact that you are tied to the brakes that go with the shifter. With an MTB you can fit any brake with any shifter on separate clamps so there is more competition.
That's my guess at any rate.

The editors are waiting for UK/US pricing, but it's likely to be similar to the 2015 Defy 1.

I would guess that is part of the higher prices and maybe the sales volumes are not there yet.
