As Goo says, Halal meat is becoming more prevalent and even finding its way into school dinners. Other religious practices are just as bad but not as widespread.

About 5 years ago I accompanied my wife and daughter in traipsing round the Trafford centre. The eateries there all proclaimed that their meat was halal, so I didn't eat.
Why should we we part of furthering this barbarism in the 21st century, purely on the grounds of religion. It has no place in modern life.
I may be hypocritical in condemning slaughter methods, whilst being an enthusiastic meat eater, but I want livestock treated and slaughtered as humanely as possible.
I agree that fox hunting, should go the way of hare coursing, badger baiting, cock fighting, dog fighting etc.
Nothing to do with fat blokes on horses. It is just cruel and wrong.
Edit. Obviously I didn't type fool fighting, but it does conjure an amusing picture.

I don`t eat foxes, but have shot plenty that are a threat to the stuff I do eat.
As far as I`m concerned, I shoot vermin. Anyone who has so much as swatted a fly has nothing to say that will interest me, and has no moral high ground.
I have respect for the animals I kill, and ensure it is done as quickly as possible.

My dogs retrieve live to hand, I kill the animal. Even on large game, the dogman does the killing if the dogs doing it`s job. Simple fact is that they can be the best tool for the job.
