Horrible news. Hopefully he will be as successful as Lance in winning this particular battle.

Terrible news having lost his Mother to the disease.0

Bit of a coincidence there with LA seeing as though they were briefly the top 2 GT guys in the mid-noughties. How lucky he had the crash so as to diagnose earlier than he would've otherwise. Wish him the best of luck with his recovery...0

Fingers crossed for you Ivan, get well soon.0

If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0 -

Not sure about fingers but I've got my legs crossed  Ivan's lucky his team doctor was so thorough with the examination.
I've always wondered if Armstrong's abuse of testosterone might have had something to do with his development of testicular cancer....0 -
Contador is the Greatest0

The good news in there is that it is a seminoma which is the most treatable and least malignant form of testicular cancer. They'll check for any malignant cells outside of the tumour, but chances are it'll be contained and he won't require any more treatment. He should be fine.
In 2010, I made an appointment to go to the doctor due to an unusual scrotal swelling. My usual doctor was away and I was told I was seeing a locum called Doctor Armstrong. I thought that was an unfortunate omen, and I was right!0 -
Basso back in the saddle but still unsure of future plans
“My future? I need to be patient, I have to look at a lot of things and reflect. I’m talking about it with my wife, Micaela and with the team. I want to do things properly and above all I want to do the right thing for my health,” Basso said. “Like I said, getting back on the bike is already a beautiful thing in itself. For me, the bike is life. It’s health. It’s happiness. It’s everything.
“For the moment, it’s going well, but as for [a decision on] the future, a bit of patience is required. Maybe after one or two rides on my Specialized I’ll have a clearer idea: the bike has always inspired me a lot.”
Basso is due to hold a press conference in Livigno on Monday morning to discuss his return to the saddle.

I doubt it had nothing to do with it, certainly didn't when I had it in 93...0 -

Basso went for a short ride with his son Santiago around Livigno, where numerous Italians rider train at altitude during the summer. In a special press conference before the ride, Basso joked about having taken a 'long holiday' off the bike and revealed he faces an important medical check-up on September 1st.
"I'm happy to be able to start riding again today I don't know if I'll race again or if I'll be in the peloton next year. But the bike is a way of life, it's good for you and it makes people happy. Cycling is not only about racing," Basso said, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Basso is expected to stay in Livigno for a few days before returning home to Cassano Magnago near Milan to decide his future.
"On the first of September I've got an important check-up. It's not a routine visit but very specific. Professor Montorsi and his team has done an excellent job and we're very optimistic for the future," he said.
"In the last ten days during a family holiday I've discovered how nice it is to reflect on things. My future will definitely be in cycling but I don't know in what way. I've got to thank the Tinkoff-Saxo team for their support in my fight against cancer and even riding my bike again is a success. My bike is part of my family and so any decision about the future will be made after lots of thought and consideration."
