Hi all!

I'm newbie when it comes to road biking and related gear so I was wondering if someone could help me with Roubaix SL3 Expert (model 2012) frame sizing.

I was offered pretty good deal on one specimen but my only concern is the frame sizing as it appears to be 52 frame. The current owner is a tad shorter than I am being 172 cm tall as I'm 175 cm (my inseam about 75 cm). If we look at the official charts I should be getting the size 54 and even then I'd be at the top end of the recommended height.

So I would greatly appreciate any firsthand comments form current Roubaix owners in evaluating whether it is worth trying the bike or can someone say with certainty that frame is hopelessly too small to even consider?

Edit: My current ride is 17" Kona Blast that's pretty good fit. Here's the geometry for reference:

I've also ridden 16" inch Cinder Cone that's pretty much exactly same geometry as Blast.

Comments

  • I'm 176cm height, 76cm inseam and have a Roubaix 2013 54cm.
Fine in the leg length (Bottom bracket to Saddle).

Actually think I need to shorten stem a tad for the reach
Either that or strength my core, as only becomes uncomfortable on rides over 100km.
