Caliper issues

OK I have been looking around and can't find anything to point to a solution on this one....
I've been running 180mm Front/160mm Rear rotors on a Cube stereo 2011 and RockShox Revs without any problem; i've upgraded the brakes to SLX M675s front and rear and decided to add some ice-tech rotors 203mm/180mm instead. Bought the correct (or so i thought!) Shimano mount adapters - 203mm Post for the front and 180mm IS to post at the rear. All went well with the front caliper, but the rear rotor edge is stuck against the caliper housing. I've managed to get the correct clearance using 2.5mm spacers between the adapter and the caliper to raise it slightly, but not happy about the botch! the 160mm adapter and rotor worked without any problems, seems a bit strange the 180mm doesn't though.....has anyone else seen this problem? Is it possible the post adapter is dodgy? I know the frame originally came with 180mm F/R Hayes Stroker brakes, so the frame can take that size ok. Any help would be appreciated

Have you got a link to the exact mount you fitted to the rear?0

And pictures of where you are now with the installation."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

This shows the spacing (and the adapter model)
this is the current clearance on the disc

Any ideas guys?0

Could be 4 things.
1) the rotor is larger then 180mm
2) the adapter is smaller then 180mm
3) the caliper isn't made to the proper specifications
4) the IS mounts on the frame have been welded on in the wrong position.0 -

1. the rotor is an ice-tec 180mm and it definitely 180mm
2. the adapter does clearly state 180mm on it - any ideas what the centre to tip dimensions could be so i can check?
3 & 4. The calipers are brand new SLX, and the 160mm rotor with adapter fitted perfectly to the frame before, which i would guess would rule out the frame being wrong, or the calipers?0 -
Is it a front or rear 180mm adapter? They are different.I don't do smileys.

It's the correct adapter.
