Does any know what's happening with the old A1 between Ripon and Leeming Bar. This part of the road is a service road running along side the new A1.

A number of times over the last month or so I have seen large groups of riders on this road with numbers.

Been unable to find any info as I have been working on these days.

Would be a good time trial route

    It is the A6055 so is a normal public road. Built alongside the A1M for non-motorway traffic.

    It is in fact the old A1 north bound lanes left in place after the up grade to motorway. This section back in the 60/70's and early 80's was a time trial route up to Catterick roundabout.

    Just wanted to know if any club is organising any events on the section as they appears some form off organised event happening on a number of weekends

    There has been quite a lot of organised rides and sportive a over the last couple of weeks that have used that stretch of road, one year since tDF and all that. It is also used on the bike leg of the ripon triathlon I think.

    There are both 10 and 25 mile TT courses on this road. At least 3 25s. A 2 lap one using the middle section and ones starting at either end using the full road. I am riding a 10 there on Saturday.

    Which club is organising these TT, be nice to ride again a section of my old TT course from 70/80

    Went up to watch the 10 today, but did not see anything only saw one chap riding a TT PlanetX bike
