OK I know most blogs are less interesting than watching paint dry however....
A Friend of mine decided (was cajoled into) entering Mountain Mayhem as a solo rider, he did pretty well finishing 22nd overall (on a singlespeed), the solo category being won by Steve 'Dorris' Day another cycling buddy of ours (also rising SS) - the person who was, incidentally, responsible for most of the cajoling. His preparation and experiences he has put into a blog (link below) and I think makes a pretty good read (its not too long - which always helps).
