    Hint - always check your links.

    The Zaskar will be better for commuting, and has better bits.

    The other has a springier rear end.

    The Zaskar is pretty well specced for the money and is tried and trusted geometry.

    the Helion gets good reviews, but as always the FS is much lower specced than the hardtail at the same price and like all GT FS the frame is rather 'big boned' so will be harder work due to teh added weight (including the lower specced heavier components).

    Which is best for you depends on your usage, for commuting the Zaskar, for most XC work the Zaskar.
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
