Red Hook Crit London (Greenwich)

I checked on "Pro Race", "Track" and "Amateur Race" and no mention of this Saturday's event. It's in London - most in here live in London or thereabouts - so I thought I would see who has heard of it and who is going to watch the racing.

I appreciate it won't be to everyone's taste: it's ridden on track bikes and there will be blokes wearing patterned lycra, beards and tattoos.

Bottled entering; still waiting for my life insurance policy to kick in
But will likely be around to watch.0 -
I'm not sure my insurance covers something as ridiculous as fixed gear, no brakes crit racing! It promises to be very entertaining.Ben

Not to forget the sheer lack of vetting on rider skills; you pay you in.
Corner 1 could be interesting or 2,3,4,5 & 6
Good to see they have marked out the beer location on the map.
(Tell me if that hasn't loaded, linked from lfgss)0 -
They had similar at the Nocturne. Was good fun to watch.
I'm off on a family thing that evening
Pretty annoying, as I live 5mins from where they're staging it.0 -

My better half's family are over visiting, but I'm dragging everyone along! No way I'm missing this.Ben

Turns out this was the one event where partners weren't included. Rookie error :?0 -
That was ace, best spectator event for cycling I've been to. Free entry, BYOB, bars/food and lots of spots to watch from.
As for this guy, he's OK bike not OK.

Agreed. We had a great afternoon/evening - the local Tesco was like something out of "28 Days Later", I think I got my hands on the last eight cans of Stella!
Seriously impressive bike handling. To scrub off enough speed to make those technical turns - on a fixed wheel and without brakes - takes some serious skill. And some even more serious nerve!
(that was a bad crash - incredibly he seems to have got off a lot lighter than the fella in the other crash. He was lifted into the Krankenwagen)Ben

There were people scrambling for the last bottles of beer at Tesco, not sure if they realised it was Becks Blue
The fella who went down on lap one; some broken front teeth and collarbone, ouch!
Expecting lots of great footage from this, lots of tasters coming up.
