10/11 Speed cassette spacer

I'm just about to change the wheels on my bike for the first time and I'm awaiting delivery of Mavic SLR's which I expect are 11speed but my drivetrain is 10-speed. Shimano 105.
Do I need to purchase a spacer and is there anything else I should look out for?
Also, is it normal practice to purchase a second cassette for the additional wheels, my older wheels will go to use on a second bike and then I'll also have a winter set of basic Aksiums.

The wheels will come with a Mavic spacer, I think its 1.85mm. To fit 10 speed cassette you will need this spacer as well as the shimano 1.0mm spacer. I would just buy a cheap 10 speed tiagra/105 cassette for your older wheels.0

Is it likely to be self explanatory to what order the spacers/cassette will go on the freehub and would I likely need to re-index my shifting also?

Spacers on first followed by the casstte. I think I put the mavic on first but I don't think it matters. You should not have to re index.0
