Single speed Chain line Need to change gearing
Single speed Mountain bike is currently running 34 x 16 , (26 " wheel)
I want to run 36 x 16
Chain rings will catch chainstays if fitted on inner of crank
If I fit 36" chainring to outer of crank it will upset the chainline.
Will this throw the chain?
Is it less efficient mechanically?
I don't want to use smaller sprocket, been advised 16T is minimum to use off road (Surly)

i'd use the 15T sprocket with your 34T chainring - why have you been advised not to?0

Thanks will go for the 15t
Realised I am now using a dedicated singlespeed frame, so no longer an issue.0
