Evening all,

About ready to pull the trigger on an Ultimate CF SLX 8.0 now, but would just like your opinions on frame size.

I'm 184 cm, with a 89cm inseam. (6ft, 35" inseam)

I am on the borderline of L and XL.

Which of those two sizes would put more strain on my flexibility?

Link to bike (geometry near the bottom) - https://www.canyon.com/en/road/ultimate/ultimate-cf-slx-8-0.html

Thanks

    The smaller one, probably.
I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles

Similar size to me but looks like you are longer in the leg. I'd go with the L. You might find the reach on the XL a bit of a stretch. Those bikes already are quite long by some other standards so unless you have very long arms also I'd be inclined to go smaller. At least then you will have plenty adjustment to go bigger and you will have a pro look saddle to bar drop :) Ring up canyon and ask them

    Cheers lads.

My gut feeling is large, and I spoke to someone from Canyon earlier and they said large too.

Just wanted a third opinion :).

Can't wait to get this bike - seems like astounding value especially when paying in euros!
  • Call them. I've just ordered the very same bike a couple weeks ago was unsure about size. Called the number on the website and spoke to a very nice chap in their UK office. He asked me some measurements and confirmed what their online questionnaire said, that I am a L, at 6ft2. Obviously, the caveat is that I have n't received the bike but the size / geometry is very similar to my other road bikes so I'm sure it will be ok.

I'm so sad though, whilst on the exercise bike last I spent 15 mins watching a video on YouTube of some unpacking and building his one!

I am 191 tall and 92 inseam on an XL. So I think you'd be a Large

Just need to figure out the cheapest way of getting the bike from Koblenz to the UK now!

I'm 189cm tall and 88cm inseam. I've gone for a large. Fingers crossed!

Trusted the fit recommendation made by the site but I've also checked the frame measurements against my current bike and seems pretty similar.

You'll probably need a 140mm stem on there if you've gone for the large.

    Impossible to say.......

I'm of similar height and inseam (6'1" and 88cm), and i have 2 large framed bikes (58cm) with similar geometry to the Canyon. one has 110mm stem and the other 90mm. 110mm is a tad too long for me, the 90mm is perfect. I'd never go for a 140mm.
But it all depends on the individuals preferred riding position and previous bike fits, so poor advice imo.

SLX 8.0 too? You paid in EUR or are you getting it delivered to the UK?

You had your order confirmation through yet?
