Monarch shock issue

Hello,
I'm at my wit's end here and seemingly nobody on the internet has the same problem as I do.
I have a Monarch R on my Anthem, and I have a problem with a sticky feeling on compression.
At about 25% through the travel, the shock feels like it's running over glue for a moment and there is a squelching sound. Pressing down on the saddle it feels like a slight knocking but there is very little sound.
It is NOT the linkage bearings or the shock bushings. Something in the shock is causing this. I have done an air sleeve service which has not fixed the issue.
It makes the bike feel like a clunky mess and as such I'm not very willing to ride it - any help would be greatly appreciated.

Let the air out then run the wheel through the travel and see if you can still feel it. If you can then it is defiantly a damping circuit issue.
Might be worth sending it off to Mojo for a look over custom tune."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

If I let all the air out is is buttery smooth, can't feel it at all.

Was the problem there before you serviced the air can?Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Yes, I serviced the air can in attempt to fix it but it didn't help.

Is it still under warranty? If it is send it back, if not send it to TF Tuned for a service.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Not under warranty unfortunately. I was rather hoping to fix it myself as a service costs as much as a new shock so seems pointless.

Service is £80 and a new Monarch RT is £175. That's quite a lot less for a service.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

This is only a Monarch R, which I can get new for £100.

probably have more luck sending the shock to someone that would actually fix it0 -

Monarch R is a fairly rubbish shock though. Send it for a service and PUSH tune and you will actually have a decent shock.
I found the Anthem really works well with a really decent shock. I'm guessing it's really harsh with the Monarch R?Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -

Yep, it doesn't seem to care about anything smaller than a drop. It seems as though the shock is a bit delayed when responding to bumps!
Edit - do you think it would be worthwhile saving up for a better shock? Perhaps something with a lockout and better performance to begin with or would a push tune be better?

when did mojo start doing service/repair for rockshox0 -
Sounds to me very much like an issue with the positive and negative balancing. The port is about 25%, makes a squelchy wooshing noise and effects all kinds of things.... first question. Whats the actual model of the shock? Air can size and tune (should be a sticker with H/M/L in red and H/M3/M/L3/L in blue on it)? What pressure do you run? What sag%?
Personally I dont think the latest Monarch R is a bad shock at all, if its right for the bike.A Flock of Birds

I thought about the equalizing port as the feeling is always at about 25% of travel. I'm pretty sure it's a M/L tune but I'll double check (edit, it's M/L). It's a standard air can, running 230psi to get 20-25% sag.
