Suntour rear mech replacement

Hi,
Bought the wife this GT outpost.
The rear mech is a bit worn.
Do I need to replace with a Suntour rear mech or will a Shimano fit?
These are the shifter if it makes a difference.
Any recommendation for a replacement?

Check the tech docs for capacity, but a medium will probably be fine looking at the freewheel in the photo.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
