So, has anyone else looked at the date this weekend and been hit with the sudden realisation that this ride is only 4 weeks away?!
In previous years has anyone stayed in a hotel? Did you have issues keeping your bike in your room?

There's a massive thread on this on the "Organised rides..." forum in Road - and if you've not got a hotel yet, you're probably going to be staying in Liverpool or somewhere!

Considering the cost of a hotel room and the aggro of getting to and from it you should look at getting a mini cab0

Never really thought about this really.
I was going to stay at my parents and then either ride to the start line, do the ride, ride back to Norbury and then drive home. I was toying with the idea of driving to Clapham and going from there as I can park there as well.Food Chain number = 4
A true scalp is not only overtaking someone but leaving them stopped at a set of lights. As you, who have clearly beaten the lights, pummels nothing but the open air ahead. ~ 'DondaddyD'. Player of the Unspoken Game0 -
I had an official car park place last year, but the queue was ridiculous. Took me 2 hours to get into the car park, took my bike out of the car to find I had a puncture, then my pump broke whilst trying to fix it! by which time i'd missed my start time by over an hour. My friends who were waiting for me in the rain were a bit miffed.0

Did they still let you start late?0

Yeha scary - 4 weeks that is...
6.33 start this time but did remember a friend who lives in walthamstow - so 3.5 miles to start - nice!Le Cannon [98 Cannondale M400] [FCN: 8]

Would quite like to start half an hour earlier. 7am for me but a few clubmates starting at 6.30.
Guessing there'll be quickish groups going out still at 7...?0 -

All 25,000 starters will start in waves. Waves are marshalled into pens at the start (cue: baa, baa!)- Wave load time is the time you can get into your pen (same pens are used for earlier waves in your colour group)
- Wave load closing time is when you've missed your wave load and may have to start in a later wave of the same colour
- Start time is the time you start pedalling

Confession: I've not read the full blurb. But I've got a start and end time for my (black) wave, and a completely different 'start' time for the event. Assume we are gathered en masse in blocks, then gradually moved to the start to avoid a massive-TdeF style melee of flying bikes, riders and body parts?
