Forth Bridge - Leven - Arbroath

I'm a new member on the forum. Hello to all.

After two years and about 10,000 miles of London commuting, I'm going to have my first crack at the open road - albeit still on my mountain bike because (a) it's the only one I've got, and (b) my eyesight isn't great and the 29er Rockhopper is best for crunching over potholes that I've failed to spot!

The magnificent Exeter City FC are playing pre-season games on 7/7 at East Fife and 9/7 at Arbroath, so I'm going to ride from South Queensferry over the bridge and along to the coast at Leven. Then the following day up the coast to Arbroath. And on Day 3 a little Arbroath circular ride, probably via Montrose and Brechin.

I'm sure there are various materials online, but I'm a lazy sod and I've been madly busy, so as it's my first attempt at touring can I request some bespoke advice on routes to take? Frankly, it looks like a matter of turn right after the bridge and turn left when you reach the sea - is there anything I need to know? Paths or quiet routes to aim for or roads to avoid?

Oh, and hills. I'm a big lad on a heavy bike, but am I right in thinking there's nothing too lofty on these routes?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
