Tight headset has play
My 2014 Defy Advanced 1 had a tight headset when I bought it, so the shop eased it off. I recently noticed there is a bit of play (holding front brake and rocking). If I tighten it up, it goes stiff again (but still has play).
I've disassembled the headset and find that if I press the top cover down on to the bearing by hand, it goes tight against the frame while the bearing can still be rotated. It seems to me that it needs another 1 1/4" by 0.25mm spacer inside. Am I right? If so, where can I get a spacer? I can't find any online.
Thanks
Nick

what headset does it have? may need a spacer to ensure you can set the pre-load on the top cap.
Just make sure you're following the correct process.

Sounds like you need one, or possibly two, of these

Thanks.
The top bearing is actually 1 1/4, but I've found some in Germany so should be all set by the weekend.
