Hi

Myself and a friend are hoping to cycle from York to Paris however we are struggling to find a suitable route.

Is it a case of plotting your own route? If so what program is the tool of choice?

Has anyone done this trip before? I am sure loads have, so if you have please can you be heard so that I can fire some questions your way.

We are planning on doing between 70 - 90 miles per day with Hotel / BnB stops along the way with the crossing at Dover.

Any help would be much appreciated.

The top tip would be not to go via Dover. Newhaven may be a better option.

This route seems to be a popular option:

Or you could go Harwich-Hook of Holland.

There are route planning sites like cycle.travel and Google Maps will suggest 'bike-friendly' routes, but whatever tool you use there's no substitute for carefully checking the output.
