I make this video last week of my bike ride on the M7 Motorway in Sydney.
It's 40km of uninterrupted bike track.
I hope you enjoy it.

Well it's been a while, but I decided to remake my M7 Cycleway video again. This time with better camera gear.
I hope you enjoy it.

It's nice to see quality cycleways. I hope it's kept maintained and swept.
Recently I've read a lot of horror stories about cycling in Australia, that car drivers have a poor attitude against cyclists and there's been a high injury/fatality rate with no charges or a very lenient court punishment. Some Australian cities seem very unpleasant places to cycle. Is there any truth in this?"The Prince of Wales is now the King of France" - Calton Kirby0 -
I would say there is some truth to it. The court system is very lenient in general in Australia I believe and I don't really expect this to change. I don't think it's a specific attitude toward cyclists, but the court system in general. A lot of rapists and violent criminals are often out on bail just to reoffend in a more serious crime.
20 years ago a cyclist on a road would cop a lot of abuse especially in a city environment. Culturally there has been a shift slowly starting in the 90s with the reclaim the streets rally where cyclists would block a major intersection in peak hour to protest the lack of sharing of the road. In more recent time state and local governments are making the change by installing dedicated cycleways at a cost. For example the uninterrupted section of the M7 Cycleway cost $60 million and the community remains split as to the value that it provides.
Things are changing, but there is still a way to go.0 -
Wish the UK had something like this...0

Reminds me of some of the tracks around Melbourne, again next to Motorways, plus the Yarra and so on.0

Yeah, I'm going to Melbourne this December and hope to get some rides in. I'll probably use one of those point to point bike share bikes that are all the craze at the moment. See what they're like to use.0
