Avid BB5 mount on new fork?

Just installed a cheap and cheerful XC28 fork onto a disused bike which has Avid BB5 brakes.

After screwing the caliper into the post mount, the caliper won't accept the wheel - it looks as if the caliper needs to be offset inwards towards the wheel by a small amount (4-5mm?), and comparing the old forks vs new ones, the old fork post-mounts seemed to be positioned more inwards.

Any ideas what specific spacer components I should be picking up from CRC?

Thanks for help in advance as ever!

slacken of the caliper to adaptor bolts and move the caliper.

When I tried this last night the distance to move seemed far to far - and by that point I hadn't tightened up the caliper in the first place. Looking at it from the front, the "mouth" of the calipers was practically lined up with the innermost side of the fork lowers; no amount of slackening would sort that (as I said, 4-5 mm at the least).

Of course, it is entirely possible that there is a "schoolboy error" in here somewhere, and I will admit I didn't spend much time on it last night as SWMBO needed obeying, but I was left scratching my head a little.

    OK pics.

what was old fork and year or new.

it Should be a straight swap unless one is not to standard.

but pics later will be the best option.

Will do. Original fork is Suntour XCM on Spesh Hardrock Sport Disc 2011 model. New fork, 2016 XC28 from Rockshox.

I'm sure that logically there should be no issue here, but if I don't have a forehead slapping moment when I get in tonight I'll upload pics.

Forehead slapping duly completed. I'd managed to position the washers such that the caliper was in completely the wrong place.

I would suggest giving yourself a kick up the 4r5e, but you'll probably miss!
