Campagnolo tools
I'm about to convert my single speed bike, based on a 1980s Moser steel frame, with a 10 speed Campagnolo Veloce groupset. Over the years I've collected a random selection of bike fitting tools, but all for Shimano and from the olden days Suntour. I have everything I need to build up a bike with a Shimano groupset, but will I need any specific tools for the Veloce groupset?
Thanks

You'll need a Campag cassette lockring tool - it's a different fitting to Shimano.
If it's an ultra-torque chainset, you'll need a really long allen key suitable for use with a socket set, or the ultra-torque tool.
If it's power-torque, you'll need the Park CBP-5 and and CBP-3 to be able to get the chainset off again (but not to put it on). For ultra-torque, you only need the CBP-3, and then only to change the bearings.
To replace chain-rings on some Veloce chainsets it's helpful to have a *really* wide flat-blade screwdriver to hold the back of the chainring bolts.
...and don't forget that Campag use a fair bit of Torx as well as Allen Keys, so make sure you have a set (20, 25 and 30 from memory).0 -

Much more useful full set of long allen key drivers: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00C1Z6CYU?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage - good for fitting other chainsets too, and for removing some Shimano freehubs (need 14mm Allen for that).0 -
Thanks, it looks like I only need a 14mm Allen key, the biggest I have is 10mm. The groupset has arrived now, so I'm looking forward to building the bike up.0

Just a heads up that Veloce levers require a Torx T25 tool for installation to the bars.

You might need a new tool to do up the Bottom Bracket cups.
If you have the ring spanner type you should be fine.
If you have a socket type the splines are identical but are much deeper with Campag. A Hollowtec tool is usually too shallow and will mess up your cups. Park tools and some others make ones deep enough to do both.Mud to Mudguards. The Art of framebuilding.

You can also use a 10mm hex bit on a 3/8" drive to do the UltraTorque. (Suspect a 1/2" drive one may be too large to fit in).0
