Edge 500 Auto Lap

My edge 500 beeps around the same point everyday on my commute, and creates a lap? Does anyone know why this is? I'm not on a loop or lap according to Google maps.

    If you haven't got it already go to http://static.garmincdn.com/pumac/Edge_500_OM_EN.pdf and download the Garmin 500 manual.
    The various Lap options are detailed on pages 10 and 11.

    Edit... btw, you can turn off the Auto Lap function.

    mine autolaps every 5 miles. you can change this.

    my running garmin can also be set to autolap on repeated position (eg on circuit / track races, you could set it to autolap when passing the finish line)

    Happy days, I take it by changing auto lap to 'By Position' then to 'Start and lap'. It will auto lap when I do a loop of something?

    Or in the settings on the 500 you can turn the feature of fully
