The end of SKY?

Disillusioned with the new Eurosport format and the stuttering feed in live mode, I started researching alternatives. A friend bought a 'Blade box' or some noun to that effect. It connects to the internet, costs £95 with a £50 annual subscription and you get all the Sky channels and Eurosport. You need someone with savvy to fit it. Apparently, there is another one where you just buy it as a one off.
I am thinking of it but the thought that if both BT and SKY get usurped by digital decoders that give you the channels much cheaper, then the net effect may be less money into football from TV rights now worth less (theoretically). Some may say this is a good thing.

While you're at, tell us if it's legit or not...
What do you think?
70 quid a month for official subscription or 50 quid a year from some underground third party outfit?
I think sat companies have been getting away with it for too long now, there is no need for the extortionate costs for these services. Its like the mobile phone charges of the 80's !!!!
They share the viewing cards so that if one drops out another takes the place.
Picture quality was good but it was terribly intermittent with freezing frames, the screen would lock completely for up to to 30 seconds, I can remember watching a stage of the tour and I missed the end because it froze.
There was nothing wrong with the equipment it was just the way it captured and authorised the viewings.
It was handed back as it was unusable, next thing I hear is that Sky had shut the operation down.
as long as you've got a good enough internet connection and can configure it then it's another way to get tv services, there are similar boxes from other vendors, or you can simply use a laptop/other computer (these boxes are typically a small computer running linux with a wrapper to give the user interface)
set-up probably ok for the technically experienced, the average punter is probably going to need someone to do it for them
don't have one myself as freeview is fine for me 99% of the time
bear in mind that iptv streams can be quite low quality vs. broadcast (which itself is often poor these days due to too many channels being squeezed in)
However, you can't watch on demand, you cant view box sets and all of the other extras you get with sky.
What you do get, once you've offset the cost of the box is the full live package for about a tenner a month.
SKY do know about it though and you can't get HD channels any more, there are problems with freezing channels and you have to be well clued up on the boxes to run it properly.
Essentially an android tablet internals connected to TV through hdmi
I'm in Barabdos so not much decent TV choices
It uses all pirate feeds that work on desktop but just has fancy media player or apps to access them
Perfect replacement for Netflix/Hulu/on demand TV for one off fee of about £80
I don't have any subscription to TV so I just watch TV shows a day later
Very good streams for UK free to air channels
Can be dodgy with sky sports and subscription channels for live sport as its using same streaming as on pc

Oi.
I have got a Eurosport subscription. It no longer works very well.
I would really like La Liga highlights on SKY. Have to go to a mate's house to watch that.
Do you drink his beer and eat his food as well?
Damn right I do - it ain't 'free'. The number of jobs I have done for that bloke should have given me an extra salary. He inherited a flat and it needed some amount of work and muggins did most of it.
It was either 'give me a key' or 'I'll claim a percentage of the rent you are now receiving'.
I was very disappointed when I asked him where he wanted me to mount the red light and where he was placing the cash register and I got a funny look.
