I think so. Certainly looks like. Nothing else out there. But, still, my PX with Apex cost £799, normally £999. Even accounting for the better brakes that's yet another poor value Genesis. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

It does seem a little early to criticise given that neither the spec or price appears officially confirmed - where did you find the pic/info?
It is at least the new Tiagra groupset, which looks a lot more classy than the fugly old one.
Still, Genesis do have a good history of fire-sales when models aren't selling well (eg the Volare 10 and 20 now), so if you hold on long enough you might get one for cheap.0 -
It's on road.cc and bikeradar facebook pages. No details.
I may be being harsh, and it is new Tiagra as stated, but, and I say this with Genesis being one of my favourite brands, you can, generally, build their bikes cheaper than they assemble them. I think that's a massive shame given that they are, essentially, the Shimano importer and can't, as I understand it, get a good deal on groupsets. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Harsh - but admittedly I bought mine frame only...
My Zero is an exceptional frame, which is what's important afterall.

If it had Colnago written on it, I don't think anyone would be comparing it to a Planet X. I really don't get this bike comparison by groupset. Not all frames are the same.0

Indeed they are not. But we know that most of them are made "similarly". If you like I could compare it to, something like the Giant TCX Advanced Pro at the same price. With 105 22 speed. A similar if perhaps not identical bike.
I realise that this will be a talking point and apologise if anyone feels upset at my comment but, it seems to me, Tiagra at £1799 is a considerable amount of money now. It's a shame it can't be 105 22 or even Rival, the latter, of course, will never happen.
FWIW, I think it's a stunner and will keep an eye on it in the closeout salesMy blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Here's the slightly cheaper version with Promax brakes:
£1699. The 105 version is £2099 (albeit hydraulic). That should mean that the Genesis 105 version is £2199?My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Direct sellers (Planet X, etc) are always going to be cheaper as there's no dealer margin in the equation.0

I hope it's not an Avro copy - I would hope for something more...ahem...gravelly from Genesis. The fork looks to have way more clearance so that's a start...My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

The frameset price is slightly better (surprisingly) than the Zero. So you could put together a 105 or Rival build with better wheels than the Fulcrums for RRP. Depends if you can be bothered, of course. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

This is the information from Genesis
I must say I like the look of it. Not keen on the press fit bottom bracket but I like everything else about it. Don't know if I'd actually buy one though. I still have an irrational fear of carbon, even though the Kinesis I've been abusing for the last couple of years has a full carbon fork.
Edit: Aah bollox! Bender has beaten me to it with the link. Pesky customers bothering me when I'm mid-post.0 -

Comparing the measurements (fork aside) they are definitely different. Not massively. But different. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

yeah (for no reason at all) I like the look of an Adventure/Gravel/thingum bike for long distance, country lane, bridelway, winter road sort of riding that I could also use for bikepacking in summer

The thing about gravel racers is that, arguably, we've had them for a while. It's just that the fashionable material is now making a play.
You're right on tubeless mind. Unless it's CX or MTB they tend to stop at 28.....................My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

I quite like it as long as it feels like a road bike.
I am not sure if that rides stiff bit has to do with the comparison to the Giant or in general. It would be a bit worrying if its that stiff even with 30c tires on it.0 -
That seems to be the case. If it is I'm not sure what the point is. A mason is cheaper. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Looking forward to seeing one in my LBS. Due in November I believe. I'm told they look very nice in the flesh. Certainly would suit the Cornish lanes. Hmmmm....FCN 3 / 40

I think it looks like a fine bike but the pricing would make it a difficult sell and what's wrong with tubeless cx tyres. Some country lanes are more like tracks anyway.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0

Just ordered myself a Datum 20, gonna be a long wait but looking forward to it! after years on MTB's it'll be my first road bike, the potential versatility won me over to the Datum, should be a heck of a bike!0
-
Based on some of the gravel races I've ridden, you'd hope it's light because you'll be carrying it a lot! IMO, adventure bikes need to accept 40mm+ tyres if you have any serious ambitions about taking it offroad.Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

3 K for a 9 Kg gravel bike... seems a bit rich TBH... you can buy lighter cyclocross bikes for a lot less than that. I bet the aluminium Giant disc crosser weighs less than thatleft the forum March 20230
